Jags Baseball to Host Free Clinic April 22 with My Brother's Keeper

The Augusta University baseball team will host a free clinic, Augusta's Play Ball Initiative, on Saturday, April 22 at Jaguar Field with kids from My Brother's Keeper. The clinic lasts from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., and a cookout will be provided at the end of camp by Clint Bryant, Augusta University Director of Athletics.

My Brother's Keeper (MBK) joins more than 300 mayors, county officials, and leaders of tribal nations that have accepted the My Brother's Keeper Community Challenge, an initiative to encourage community leaders across the country to develop plans to improve life outcomes and open opportunities for all youth in our neighborhoods.

"This is a great opportunity for our children to get involved with role models who enjoy and love the game, while being active and doing something positive," said Augusta Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. "I am glad to be able to partner with Coach Bryant and the Jags to be able to offer safe and family friendly fun for Augusta's youth."

The clinic participants and their families are invited free of charge to the Augusta University baseball doubleheader on Sunday, April 23 between the Augusta Jaguars and the Lander Bearcats. First pitch on Sunday is at 1:00 p.m., and the 2017 Senior Day celebration will take place following the doubleheader.

There will be a check-in table at Saturday's clinic and a complimentary ticket will be given for Sunday's baseball game!
