Lock and Dam Park Lock Operation - As of May 15, 2014, the Lock operation at the Lock and Dam Park will no longer be in operable. In addition, access to the Lock for fishing will no longer be allowed. This is a safety issue and in any inquiries should be directed to the US Army Corp of Engineers at (864) 333-2238.

Riverwalk Abatement and Pruning - In an effort to improve visibility and security along the Riverwalk, the Recreation, Parks and Facilities Department has awarded a bid to Georgia Power Company for Riverwalk Tree Abatement and Pruning services. Starting on Monday April 21, crews will be performing tree cutting operations. The project is expected to take 3 – 4 weeks to complete, weather permitting. The daily work areas will be clearly marked with safety signage, and pedestrian traffic will be reduced and re-routed in these areas during working hours. We expect that work will be performed on weekends as well. Please be aware of the inherent dangers involved in work areas, and avoid them whenever possible. While we apologize for the inconvenience, it is our intention to make the Riverwalk safer for ourselves and future generations.
