Do you record maps, plats or plans? If so, effective January 1, 2017, the filing process in the state of Georgia has changed.  HB 1004 of the 2016 legislative session, relating to courts and property, will require the electronic filing of maps, plats and plans.  

All plats must be filed electronically at  Register at to begin the eFiling process. For more information regarding eFiling requirements, see the Learning page of the GA Superior Court Clerk

Please access the following link for additional information as to what is required on the plat - HB 1004 Information and please note that HB 76, effective May 8, 2017, changed certain requirements and certifications for certain maps, plats, and plans presented for filing with the Clerk of Superior Court; provided for definitions; changed certain provisions relating to the information and certifications to be provided by land surveyors on certain documents; provided for applicability and repealed conflicting laws in previous legislation.
