Augusta
Web Site Support

This document is intended to help web visitors who are having problems or difficulty accessing or using the web site.

JavaScript

The City of Augusta web site uses JavaScript in various areas to enhance functionality. It is recommended that web site visitors have JavaScript enabled to use all the features of the web site. In the event the user disables JavaScript they will still be able to browse the site, but with limited menu and script functionality.

Web site cache problems

Occasionally a web site visitor may experience a problem with old web content, or script errors on the site. When browsing a web site the browser downloads the information to the user’s computer and places it in the browser cache. These errors and problems can occur if the browser refuses to update its browser cache with new information from the web site. If this occurs it is recommended that you flush your browser cache to make sure that you download the latest information from the web site. You can do this in Internet Explorer by deleting your temporary internet files. If you are using another browser please refer to your help documentation for more information on how to do this.

Supported Browsers

The City of Augusta web site has been tested to function in multiple browsers unless otherwise stated. Browsers and versions which the site has been tested to work in include:

Internet Explorer 6 – Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
Opera 8 - Opera Software
Netscape 7.2 - Netscape.com
Firefox 1.0 - Mozilla.Org

Should you experience any problems with the site it is recommended that you check that your browser is up to date. If your browser is not up to date we strongly recommend that you update it. Making sure your browser is up to date will ensure that the web site functions correctly.

Note: Use of the above listed browsers does not constitute an endorsement of support. While every effort has been made to ensure that web site will function across all platforms and browser types the city will not officially support any browser other than Internet Explorer 6.

Language Translation

The City of Augusta uses language translation services provided by Systrans. This service converts existing web site text into foreign languages for the user. Please note that in order to view text in Korean or Japanese you need to have the appropriate language pack installed. Please check with the makers or your operating system for more information.

Note: This is a automated language translation service. The translation is not exact and is only provided to help users using other languages to get a rough idea idea of the specific content or information they are looking for.
