Mission Statement
Augusta Public Transit exists to give our customers access to all regions of Augusta-Richmond County by providing a quality, dependable, safe, accessible, and affordable transit service, thereby enhancing the mobility of the general public as well as the disadvantaged.

Primary Responsibilities
Augusta Public Transit provides comprehensive public transportation services throughout Richmond County. These include the fixed route bus service that operates 9 fixed routes, access to ADA (Para transit) service, and the Richmond Rural Transit service. We provide mobility to the citizens and visitors of Augusta-Richmond County.

Seniors maintain their independence, students are able to attend classes, and our citizens are able to get to their jobs and shopping. We also offer discounted rates to seniors, students, and non-profit organizations.

Fare Increase
On February 3, 2009, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission approved a fare increase for Richmond Transit Van Service (Rural). The base fare will be $3 for each one way trip beginning Monday, March 2, 2009.
