The public is invited to review and comment on Amendments to 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and FY 2017 – 2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), which includes federally funded transportation projects, such as roads, bridges, public transit projects and grants, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, planned and implemented in the ARTS planning area. The ARTS planning area covers the cities and towns in Richmond and Columbia Counties, GA. and Aiken and Edgefield Counties, SC. The FY 2017 – 2022 TIP is part of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for the State of Georgia and South Carolina.
The projects being considered in the amendments to the Transportation Vision 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan and the amendments to the Draft FY 2017-2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendments can be viewed through the online interactive map. We welcome your thoughts about transportation improvements identified in these amendments. You can use the application in the map or the comment form to provide comments on recommended transportation projects proposed in the Draft FY 2017-2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendments.
Projects are programmed into four main tiers, described as follows:
Tier 1 - Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) FY 2017-2022: projects currently receiving funding to move forward towards implementation.
Tier 2 - 2019-2029 Long Range Projects: projects planned to be funded between 2019 to 2029. These projects must move into the TIP to receive funding.
Tier 3 - 2030-2040 Long Range Projects: projects planned to be funded between 2030-2040.
Unfunded Priority Projects: projects that are not financially constrained. These projects may not have cost estimates in mind and may only have a basic concept in mind.
